Reasons Smokers Don't Quit

 

1)    You don’t want to quit NOW.

Ø  I’m not suggesting you will in the near future but when you do come see us.

Ø  Your loved one’s want you to quit but its only works when you want to.

Ø  IF you’ve ever thought of quitting once, that would be your unconscious mind talking to you.

Ø  Don’t read on your not ready yet.

2)    Fear of – Not keeping the weight off.

Ø  Tell me your never saw people smoking that you thought could lose some weight.

Ø  Smoking doesn’t keep the weight off – its how you eat and exercise that keeps the weight off.

Ø  Smoking dehydrates the body which leads you to believe it keeps the weight off.

3)    Fear of dealing with emotional issues you have been using smoking to stuff.

Ø  You are already dealing with the emotions but they just keep coming back.

Ø  What will happen if you Quit NOW and had to deal with feelings. Maybe actually deal with the feeling instead of stuffing it. WOW Imagine that freedom.

4)    Fear you can quit. What will I do with all my extra time?

Ø  SO you quit now …. What do you do with all your free time? A pack a day = 3 hours and 20 minutes a day of wasted time.

Ø  Could you think of some exciting fun thing to do with that time?

5)    Fear of Not Quitting. What if this doesn't work?

Ø  No one likes failure. Let your self down. Tell me you haven’t done something that didn’t turn out the way you wished before.

6)    I'll get sick. Cold / Flu Sinus problems ect.

Ø  I smoked even when I couldn’t breathe with Bronchitis. Like you haven’t.

Ø  Cold / flu ect. people get while smoking also if not more from the toxins in the cigarettes.

Ø  People I worked with that quit got fewer colds and are even healthier, go figure.

10) What will I do to relax or stay calm?

Ø  So you think inhaling the smoke and nicotine is what calms you down?

Ø  Take a deep breathe in with out the cigarette and tell me the difference.

Ø  Could it be the fact you are focused on the cigarette and you forget what got you keyed up about?

Ø  Deal with the emotions as they come up and you need to calm down. Now that’s an idea.
